🎃 Halloween Morning Neighborhood Hike at Bourne Farm! 🥾
Let’s kick off Halloween morning with some fresh air, a little exercise, and some neighborhood fun! 🎃🥾
You’re invited to join us for a Halloween Morning Neighborhood Hike at historic Bourne Farm on Saturday, October 31 at 9:00 a.m.
We’ll take a scenic, mostly flat 3-mile loop through Bourne Farm, along active cranberry bogs, and back through the quiet woods of Cardoza Farm. The hike should take approximately 1½ hours and is a nice, easy-paced route for enjoying the morning together.
🎃 Festive hats, Halloween spirit, comfortable layers, and leashed dogs are highly encouraged!
📍 Where to Meet
We’ll meet at the main trailhead near the large Bourne Farm barn at 9:00 a.m. sharp.
🚗 Directions & Parking
Bourne Farm
6 North Falmouth Highway (Route 28A)
West Falmouth, MA
There is a spacious, free gravel parking lot on the property. Turn into the main Bourne Farm entrance from Route 28A, and the barn and trailhead will be straight ahead.
🌧️ Rain Date
If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll move the hike to Sunday, November 1 at 9:00 a.m.
Please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. And, as always, be sure to check for ticks after your walk.

Hi everyone, Spring is here at last! 🌿🥾
The Hiking Committee has selected a great trail for our next outing. We’ll be exploring the
Eagle Pond & Little River Sanctuary in Cotuit. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a leash.
About the hike:
This is a 4-mile, self-guided hike with an easy/green (beginner-friendly) rating. The terrain is flat with minimal elevation gain, and the trails are well maintained. Highlights include the 1.6-mile Eagle Pond Loop, and the area is ideal for walking, hiking, and birding—very family-friendly.
Meet-up details:
We’ll meet at the parking lot at 9:00 AM and begin the hike promptly at 9:15 AM.
After the hike:
For those interested, we’ll gather for lunch at Cooke’s Seafood
(7 Ryan’s Way, across from the 99 Restaurant).

Important: Tick Safety
Tick season on Cape Cod is already underway, and experts are warning of increased activity this year, including the Lone Star Tick.
We will have repellent and permethrin available at the start of the hike.
To stay safe:
Wear long, light-colored clothing (tucked in when possible)
Use EPA-registered repellents (such as DEET or picaridin)
Treat clothing with permethrin
Check yourself and your pets after the hike
Directions from Quashnet:
Turn right onto Old Barnstable Road
Turn right onto Great Neck Road N
At the rotary, take the 4th exit onto Route 28
Continue for 4 miles
Turn right onto Putnam Ave
After 0.5 miles, the parking lot will be on the right
Parking: Limited (approximately 7 spaces in the main lot across from 820 Putnam Avenue)
